高透射率玻璃光纖使用PVC包覆，其外部再包覆3 /8” 和 1 /2”的金屬套管，光導的末端經過打磨與拋光處理，用不銹鋼作為終端部件，透光率大概為70%，每英尺光損耗約為6%。導光板適配器需要配合光纖照明器一起使用。

本產品價格實惠，可用在需可見光和紫外波段照明。不像玻璃光纖光導，液體光導沒有聚光損耗----在光纖與光纖之間存在間隙導致耦合效率降低（見圖表）。這種液體光導會阻斷近紅外光譜，*適合可見光傳輸和部分波段傳輸高品質彩色圖象。由于長波的透射率低，因此圖象輕微偏藍，輸出色溫偏高。多次處理過的液體光導不會導致效率降低。液體光導采用石英作為窗口保護玻璃，可密封住無毒無害的傳輸介質。本液體光導需借助于光纖適配器#38-944來連接照明器和濾光片。

石英光纖光導
工業級UV石英光纖光導是用在紫外波段的，在245nm黑暗環境伽瑪射線或X射線環境下會有熒光現象，這種塑料-金屬石英光纖介質可提供zui大的透射效率由于有著10：1的包覆率，而且柔韌性極好，涂覆層由一層PVC包裹，zui外層為不銹鋼。本品不含適配器。
